Dozens of school buses vandalized

Classes were delayed for two hours in New Milford Monday morning after someone vandalized their school buses.

About 93 tires were slashes on 45 school buses. The damage was discovered at the bus yard at 7 Dodd Road.

“They’re bringing in buses from surrounding towns to accommodate the school schedule. We have identified some evidence at the scene and we are processing it at this time. We’ve had damage to buses in the past, but never to this degree,” said Lt. Lawrence Ash, New Milford Police Department.

At about $300 a tire, plus labor, it will be a costly fix.

“It makes me crazy because it costs us, the taxpayers, money,” said Cathy Bond of New Milford.

No arrests have been made.
