Three questions with Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz
Howard Schultz, president and chairman of Starbucks, spoke at Claremont Graduate University’s Drucker Business Forum on April 5, sharing stories of how the coffee giant survived and prospered through the Great Recession without losing its soul.
In 2008, Schultz made the unprecedented decision to return as the CEO eight years after he stepped down from daily oversight of the company. Concerned that Starbucks had lost its way, Schultz was determined to help it return to its core values.
In this clip, Schultz offers his advice for young entrepreneurs, talks about corporate responsibility in an era of shrinking government, and discusses how businesses can measure success in more than profits.
The Drucker Business Forum is sponsored by the Peter F. Drucker and Masatoshi Ito Graduate School of Management at CGU.
The next Drucker Business Forum is April 14 with Denny Strigl, former CEO and president of Verizon Wireless. For tickets and other information, visit .
